Salute those in uniform this weekend, May 16th 2009 as our country celebrates another great year. Since 1949 we have been celebrating this historic Armed Forces Day, customary ways to celebrate are going to your local base who will usually be hosting an open house. Talk to the men and women in uniform and see what their lives are like on the base, living as brave soldiers. As you experience and learn more about the armed forces you will gain respect as many Americans do for those brave people in uniform. If you are not near a base but near a historic fort, take part in a community effort to clean up the historic place.
